What Books I'm Reading or have Finished.. + Exciting News!

Hey guys!

I'm in a really good mood today... don't spoil it, please. Hint, hint, my little brother.

And, if you want to hear the exciting news... then just go to the bottom of the post or keep reading. I suggest keep reading, because I'm doing a lot of reviews on the books I'm reading. So let's get started... WHOOSH.

(That was a sound effect for dramatic reasons)

1. DELIRIUM BY LAUREN OLIVER

I really enjoyed this book! Summary: in a conflicted society, where love is known as a disease, a girl falls in love with a guy. They go against the society's rules, obviously. Like every dystopian novel, but it's super good! The ending left me sad and brokenhearted... But I got over it when I read a really happy book... which is the next book!

2. ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS

There's only really one word to describe this-romantic. A girl goes to boarding school in Paris and meets a guy, and they fall in love.... but he's dating another girl... Basically, guy makes relationship-changing decision and main character and guy fight a lot. It's a really good book, even though the title is REALLY cheesy. I don't usually like judging books on their covers though(even though we all do it) and there are SO MANY good reviews on this book, all positive, that I absolutely had to read it! I stopped somewhere in the middle at first, because then I had to do homework(you know, the usual), so definitely not finished in one sitting, but when I was done... *sigh* the ending is very cutesy romantic, and their love is one of those passionate ones, but it's kind of awkward, too! I'm not usually for passionate love stories, but even I enjoyed this one.

3. REACHED BY ALLY CONDIE

For those of you familiar with Ally Condie, she writes in this way that's dreamy, and that's suspenseful but kind of like you're.. underwater, and someone's trying to tell you something from above water. It's hard to explain. I enjoyed Matched, the first book of this series, although I didn't really like Crossed. I'm still into finishing Reached, though, but I feel like so far, it's not developed well enough. I like the idea, but the story has no stable backing to it. Summary: there is a plague in the Society, and there is also an uprising. That's the most simple summary. But when you look back into the other books, you realize that in the other two, there was never ANY talk about a plague, even though the last book says that the Plague has been going on for a while now, though small. Even so, the public would have heard of it, right? I like this series, it's okay, but there's just a lot that isn't cleared up that I wished it was.

4. FROSTBITE BY RICHELLE MEAD

Another story with love in it! This is part of the Vampire Academy series, something you might know about... This is my absolute first time getting a book from the VA series, and I'm excited to read it because I've heard a lot of good reviews, not including the fact that it's been made into a movie! (the movie's supposed to be bad, but that says nothing for the books!) So, yeah. I'm excited!!!

And, that's all! I hope you enjoyed it.... and if you guys are reading any of these books, I would love it if we could talk about it! Books are jsut such an interesting topic!

So the big news is...

I'm writing a fan fiction about the Lunar Chronicles, and it's received 2.4K views! Sorry... am I bragging? I'm really sorry, I don't mean to... just... WOW. I know that's maybe not a lot for some people, but then I imagine a room full of 2 thousand and 4 hundred people, and then I'm amazed.

Here's the link to it if you're interested! I would love it if you checked it out!

Writing Something!

Posted by Jane Chen on April 30, 2015 at 6:45 PM Comments comments (0)

Hey, guys! I'm currently writing a story, that I hope that I can publish one day. It'll take forever, but I'm trying. I've been working on it for months, and I only have a couple of chapters, but it's fine. I edit the chapters all over every day, and add a new part.

I promised one of my friends that I would let her read it when I got to chapter 10.... I'm keeping it a secret until then.

Bye!
